Siena College guard Prosper Karangwa was selected Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Player of the week today following solid efforts in two major non-conference wins for the Saints.

Karangwa averaged 21 points and seven rebounds in victories over Montana State and Providence. For his efforts in Montana, Karangwa was selected MVP of the Holiday Stores/Big R Classic. The Saints became just the second team in nine years to knock off the host Bobcats. In Siena's 89-81 win over the Friars at Pepsi Arena, he registered his second double-double of the season, scoring 24 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. On the week, he shot 50% from the field and 92% from the free throw line.

Karangwa currently leads the 8-3 Saints in scoring (16.8 ppg), rebounding (6.9 rpg) and assists (4.6 apg).

Karangwa and the Saints return to action at MAAC preseason favorite Manhattan Tuesday at 7 p.m.
