Francesca Schiro shined in her first two collegiate games last week, and was voted the Air Force Reserve Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Rookie of the Week by the league's Sports Information Directors.
Schiro averaged team highs in points (17.0), assists (3.5), and steals (2.5), while leading the Saints shooting 45.5% from the field. Schiro poured in a career- and game-high 28 points on 8-for-16 shooting from the field and 2-for-3 from three against UMass on Nov. 8. She also led the team with six assists and three steals in the game and added four rebounds to her line. Her 28 points scored were the third-most in a single game in the MAAC this season and the most among rookies—11 more than the next.
The Saints return to the court at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 13, to take on Army West Point in West Point, NY.
