Siena Rugby Pitch

Siena’s state – of – the – art rugby pitch was officially dedicated during the program’s Alumni Weekend in May of 2016. The pitch was erected after alumni came together to raise $350,000 with lead gifts from Ron and Cathy Bjorklund ’85 and Doug ’77 and Margey ’76 Colbeth.

The rugby alumni come together to connect with one another in friendship, serve as mentors to the current teams, and help provide financial support to the University in a variety of ways. The Rugby Alumni Scholarship, the Kellie M. Duggan Memorial Scholarship, Athletics, and the Franciscan Center for Service and Advocacy have all benefited from this support. This project was one of the largest undertakings, and will transform the campus and club for generations to come.

In 2024, the alumni invested another $250,000 to the field during the summer of 2024 to install a full drainage system.
