Serving in the community is one of the binding aspects between Siena Athletics and the college's Franciscan roots. Each academic year, student-athletes and coaches donate time and energy to give back to the Capital Region and beyond. Siena's 21 Division 1 athletic teams annually combine to record upwards of 2,000 community service hours over the course of an academic year.

S.A.I.N.T.S CUP

Saints Alive! member and Yankee Trails CEO Steve Tobin (pictured left) made his way to the stage for the awarding of the S.A.IN.T.S. Cup award at the "Bernie's Awards"", which honors the team who has made the largest impact on the local community over the last year in its community service efforts. The 2024-25 S.A.IN.T.S. Cup award was presented to Siena Baseball, who won the award for the second-straight season after performing several community service opportunities in the local community under the leadership of second-year head coach Alex Jurczynski.
Pink Zone
Since 1999, Siena Women's Basketball has hosted its annual Pink Zone game to benefit breast cancer research and celebrate those who have overcome the disease. To-date, the event has raised over $200,000 toward treatment and finding a cure, with several reputable organizations benefiting from the funds collected.
Siena held its milestone 24th annual Pink Zone game on January 30, 2025, presented by Albany Medical Health Systems benefiting The Donna Foundation. The event raised money for The Donna Foundation through a series of raffles and fundraisers and featured a special pregame ceremony where each member of the team walked out on the court while escorting a breast cancer survivor or thriver. Siena claimed victory on Pink Zone night for a fourth straight year, defeating Marist, 62-46.

The athletic department has identified two non-profit organizations as Saints in the Community partners: The Ronald McDonald House Charities and the Adopt-A-School Program.
Ronald McDonald House Charities
The Siena Athletic Department has partnered with
Ronald McDonald House Charities in an effort to help ease the pain for sick children and their families. Throughout the course of the academic year each of Siena's 21 Division I sports teams has the opportunity to assist in this initiative. From preparing a meal at the Ronald McDonald House in Albany for the families of children with serious illnesses to visiting the children at the Ronald McDonald Family Room at the Albany Medical Center to participation in the House's spring cleanup, Siena's student-athletes and staff give countless hours to this worthy cause.
Adopt-A-School Program
The Adopt-A-School program is a community initiative intended to motivate
area elementary students through interaction with Siena's student-athletes. Members of Siena's athletic teams interact with designated schools throughout the year. In addition to providing guidance and leadership to area youths, Siena's student athletes learn first hand the value of volunteering in the community.
