LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J.-- Siena picked up an important conference road victory Sunday afternoon, shutting out Rider 3-0. The win moved the Saints to 4-2 in the conference and into a tie for fourth-place. The Green and Gold sit just three points, or one win, out of first place.
It was "Erin" day for the Saints (8-5, 4-2 MAAC), as Erin Beam, Erin Hutnick and Erin DeMatteo all scored for Siena. Beam, who moved up to sixth in the conference in scoring with 12 points, added an assist as well.
Rider (6-8-1, 2-3-1 MAAC) out-shot Siena 12-8. Rider sophomore goalkeeper Erin Wolleon made three saves, while Siena goalkeeper Noel Cox made four saves. Cox's fifth shutout lowered her GAA to 1.14, second in the MAAC.
The Saints have some time off before hosting Canisius and Niagara this weekend.
