LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - The Siena College women's soccer team tied Rider University in a match played at Siena Field today, 2-2.
The intense game started with a Rider goal by Andrea Giuliani 13:42 into the first half, assisted by Lindsay Adams. Siena got on the scoreboard by Erin Beam at 33:21, with the assist going to Jill Lanzl.
In the second half, Rider took the lead off a shot by Kirsten Haagenson at 83:34, assisted by Sarah Artale. The Saints quickly bounced back to force the overtime with a goal by Jen Mischke, off an assist from Colleen Smyth at 85:18.
The Broncs had a chance to win, but missed a direct kick wide with 7:39 left in the second half.
Despite two hard fought overtimes, neither the Saints nor the Broncs could pull out a goal and the score remained 2-2.
The Saints next face off with the Lafayette College Leopards at Easton, Pennsylvania on October 4.
