JAMAICA, N.Y. - St. John's senior midfielder Jaime Clark notched one goal and dished out two assists as the Red Storm (7-4-0, 0-2-0 BIG EAST) defeated Siena, 3-0, at DaSilva Memorial Field. Siena drops to 3-4-1 (1-0-1 MAAC) with the loss.
After a scoreless first half which saw the Red Storm take nine shots, Phyllis LaTour (Staten Island, N.Y.) took feeds from Clark (Massapequa, N.Y.) and Amber Carr (Rochester, N.Y.) for the game-winner in the 48th minute. The goal was the senior defender's first of her collegiate career.
St. John's kept the momentum going, scoring two more goals in the span of 4:49. Clark netted her third goal of the season at the 51:37 mark when Lisa Rinaldi (Montreal, Canada) stole the ball from a Saint midfielder and fed the ball to Clark for the score. Fourty-eight seconds later, Karyn Lundgren (Coram, N.Y.) followed with her first goal of the season, assisted by Clark and Diane Abeles (Glendale, Calif.).
Senior goalkeeper Lisa Miceli (East Islip, N.Y./East Islip) notched four saves in the loss.
The Saints return to action this weekend as they host their first two Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference games of the season, as Siena hosts Loyola on Saturday, September 30 at 11 a.m. and Rider on Sunday, October 1 at 11 a.m.
