The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference released its 2002 Football All-Academic Squad late last week, a listing that included nine Siena players. Joe Aurora, Jon Baker, Paul Coen, Brett Finlayson, Christian Karolus, Anthony Marasco, James Monaco, Joe Piascik and Jeremy Reed were all named to the team.
A total of 57 athletes comprise the 2002 New York Lottery MAAC Football League All-Academic Team, the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference announced today.
To be eligible for the MAAC All-Academic Team, a student athlete must complete two semesters at their institution, be a significant starter or reserve and hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 on a 4.0 scale. Iona College led all schools with 18 members named to the team. Duquense University had 13 athletes, while Siena had the nine players listed below named to the team. Saint Peter's College had six student-athletes, and Fairfield University had five players. Marist College had four athletes, while Canisius College rounded out the team with two athletes.
