Oct. 18, 2003

Box Score

Down two games to none and 25-20 in the third, the Siena volleyball team rallied to win 10 straight points to take the third game, and held a 25-21 lead in the fourth before Saint Peter's bounced back for a decisive 31-29 triumph to take the MAAC match 3-1. Serra Soylou led all players with 17 kills in a winning effort for the visitors.

The Peahens (5-19/3-1 MAAC) won the first game 30-27, the second 30-24 and appeared to be on their way to a shutout with the five point lead late in the fourth before the Saints rallied for a 30-25 win. Liz Hubbard was the catalyst for the Siena rally, converting 12 straight points (carried into the fourth game) off her service for Siena (3-16/0-4). Saint Peter's earned a 31-29 victory in the fourth game after failing to convert back-to-back match points.

Lauren Weber and Christa Glenn had 15 kills a piece for the Saints in a losing effort. Hubbard added 11. Sacha Pshenychka and Tzvetomila Dotcheva collected 13 and 10 kills for a Saint Peter's squad that used just one substitute on the afternoon.

Siena returns to MAAC action tomorrow afternoon as they host defending champion Manhattan at 1 p.m.
