Megan Angis, who is headed to Siena College in the fall as a member of the women's golf team, recently captured the Maine state schoolgirl golf title. The Thornton Academy senior won the championship at Natanis Golf Course in Vassalboro, Maine with an 82.
For her efforts throughout the 2002-03 season, Angis was also honored as an All-State selection and the Portland Press Herald/Maine Sunday Telegram MVP for girls' golf.
Angis, who played for the men's team at Thornton Academy, had a strong three-year career, playing in the top-five for the past two seasons. She was a two-year starter for the Golden Trojans who won the SMAA Southern Division Championship this past season and finished fourth in the state team championship after winning it last season.
