Saints Shutout by Vermont, 3-0

Final Stats

The Siena soccer team lost to Vermont this afternoon, 3-0, as the Catamounts extends their record to 3-1-1 while the Saints fall to 1-3 with their second-straight loss.

Senior forward Erin DeMatteo (Saratoga, N.Y.) attempted 2 shots, but came up short. The bench for the Saints managed two shots, but none on goal in suffering the shutout.

Vermont held an 11-7 advantage in shots over the Saints. Lindsay Carfagna (Moon Township, Pa.) made five stops for her second shutout of the season in the UVM net, while senior goalkeeper Krista Nordmark (South Windsor, Conn.) saw her first start as goalie, was credited with three saves in the Siena net.

With less than 2 minutes in the contest, sophomore midfield/forward Megan Helf (Mahopac, N.Y.) received a yellow card.

Statistically, the Saints were credited with 5 - 0 offsides and 8-11 in fouls against the Catamounts.

With only one game over the weekend, the Saints will prepare for Northeastern University this Tuesday at Siena Field at 4 p.m.
