Soccer Stumbles to St. Bonaventure in OT

Final Stats

The Siena soccer team (3-6) had a tough time getting their offense going this afternoon as they lost to St. Bonaventure (7-2), 1-0, in overtime at McGraw-Jennings Field.

The lone goal of the game for the Bonnies came on a corner that was crossed to junior forward Heather MacDougall who netted the goal from six yards out in the 97th minute.

The Bonnies outshot the Saints 6-2 in the first half and 11-3 in the second. St. Bonaventure managed four more shots before MacDougall's goal in the 10-minute overtime.

Sophomore Kirsten Turner recorded two shots on goal, while Sarah Hopkins and Amy Loughridge finished with one.

Tri-captain goalkeeper Noel Cox recorded 11 saves on the day; at the same time Lisa Eberhart had three for the Bonnies.

The Saints are back in action at home on Friday, October 1 against conference foe Rider at 3 p.m.
