Clifton Park,NY--The Siena College women's soccer team (1-1 overall, 0-0 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference) topped cross town foe, the University of Albany by a 2-1 count on Friday evening at Clifton Common. Jen Kies took a pass from Corry Silon and lofted a 25 yard shot into the far corner of the net to give the Saints a 1-0 at the 41:02 mark. It was her first goal of the season. Albany tied the game on a Uju Ogbuawa score at 54:33, but the Saints claimed the game winner late in the second half when Amy Loughridge deflected a Kara Sefcik cross with just under five minutes remaining. The Saints out shot the Great Danes 20 to six, with 13 in the second half. Goalie Noel Cox (Uniondale, NY) played the entire match and made one save while allowing one goal. The Saints will play two road games, before playing at home against Northeastern University on Tuesday, September 14 at 4 pm.
