Nadiege Honore and Christie Gustafson combined for 23 kills as Siena coasted to a 30-22, 30-26 and 30-18 win at Rider Sunday afternoon. With the win, the Saints improve to 5-2 in the MAAC and took a step closer to qualifying for the conference championship at Niagara later this month.
Honore had her second strong match of the weekend, killing 12 of her 27 attempts. Liz Hubbard and Janine Pesusich kept the Broncs honest in the middle combining for 11 kills.
Siena's defense was strong, as the front row limited the Broncs to just a .016 hitting percentage. Kathi Kobayashi anchored the back row with 13 digs from her libero post. Honore had 12.
Kristine Dormer had seven kills to lead Rider. Lacey Johnson collected a game-high 14 digs.
Siena setter April London had 35 assists for the Saints, winners of five straight matches. The Saints complete regular-season play next weekend when they host Manhattan and Saint Peter's in the ARC Saturday and Sunday at 2 p.m.
