LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - The Siena women's women's swimming team came through with a victory in a conference meet at Manhattan this afternoon 119-77. Saints broke out to a strong start taking first in the 200 Medley Relay that set the tone for 10 straight events that a Green and Gold swimmer took that honor.
The 200 Medley Relay team of Shanna Allen, Kaitlin Krause, Dana Golino and Ashley Serrago cut through the pool at a 1:59.09 to take first place. Melissa Nocera followed that performance up with a first place in the 1000 Free in a time of 12:02.4. After a one even hiatus from participating in the relay, Golino took first in the 200 free with a time of 2:04.06.
In the 50 Free, Serrago and sophomore Megan Dobbins finished one and two with times of 26.04 and 26.12 respectively. Kaitlin Krause raced to another Saints first place finish in the 200 Individual Medley in a time of 2:19.7.
Junior Ashley Serrago notched her third first place finish in the 100 Butterfly as she beat the competition with a time of 1:02.71.
Dobbins later followed up her initial second place finish in the 50 Free with an outright win in the 100 Free. The Milford, Conn., native paced the pool with a time of 56.77.
In the 100 Backstroke, Allen finished in a blazing 1:05.11 to take first place. The Saints Dana Golino and Melissa Nocera followed that up with another 1-2 finish for the Green and Gold in the 500 Freestyle where they were the only swimmers to finish under six minutes with times of 5:34.19 and 5:54.35 respectively. Krause closed out the first place finishes for Siena with a 1:12.30 performance in the 100 Breaststroke.
