Final Stats
Christie Gustafson had 27 kills in Siena's two matches as the Saints knocked off Bucknell 3-1 and Saint Francis (Pa.) 3-0 to move over .500 for the first time this season. Sophomore Nadiege Honore and senior Liz Hubbard combined for 39 kills in the two matches.
The Saints defeated the Bison 30-28 and 30-17 in the first two games of Saturday morning's match. Bucknell rallied for a 30-24 win in the third game, but Siena answered with a strong performance in a 30-19 win in game four to take the match. Hubbard led the Saints with 14 kills against the Bison, connecting on 67% of her total attacks.
Gustafson had 12 kills, Honore had nine and Christa Glenn chipped in six. Freshman Kathi Kobayshi collected 15 digs from her libero post to lead Siena's defense. Classmate April London had 44 assists, 11 digs and four aces.
In the second match of the day, Siena earned successive 30-25, 30-24 and 30-24 victories to take the match.
Gustafson led Siena with 15 kills in just 25 attacks (.480). Honore killed half of her 24 attacjs and London had six kills to go along with her 37 assists.
Anne Roosevelt led St. Francis with 15 kills.
Siena improved to 5-4 with the two victories. Bucknell dropped to 4-2 with this morning's loss and St. Francis is to 1-6 on the season.
