St. John's had three players post double figures in kills as the Red Storm earned a 3-0 victory over Siena Friday night in the Opening Round of the Crusader Classic in Worcester, Mass. Christie Gustafson led the Saints with 11 kills.
The Red Storm won the first game 30-18, the second 30-18 and the third 30-28.
Along with Gustafson, sophomore Nadiege Honore killed eight of her 16 attempts for the Saints. Freshman Kelly Hummel added four kills in seven attempts.
The St. John's offense was led by Shameka Mitchell who posted 14 kills. Ping Hui Huang boasted a .667 attack percentage with 10 kills in 15 attempts.
The Saints close out play in the Crusader Classic on Saturday with games against Binghamton and host Holy Cross.
