POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - The Siena swim team (3-6) fell to the Marist Red Foxes (8-0) in Poughkeepsie Saturday, 127-70. The Saints place first in five of the thirteen scheduled events.
In the 200 yard freestyle, senior Dana Golino captured first place for the Saints, clocking in at a time of 2:03.60. Following in Golino's footsteps was junior Ashley Serrago, who garnered first place accolades in the 100 yard freestyle, pacing the pool with a time of 56.46.
The Saints notched another victory in the following event, as the triumvirate of Golino, Shanna Allen, and Jaclyn Giunta finished 1-2-3 for Siena. Golino finished with a time of 2:15.93, as Allen and Giunta followed with times of 2:23.30 and 2:34.30, respectively.
The Saints' final first place finish in the day's events came behind freshman Melissa Nocera 6:00.80 finish in the 500 yard freestyle. The Red Foxes proved to be too much for the Green and Gold, defeating the Saints by a total of 57 points in their home pool.
The Saints wrap up the regular season with their final meet at the Siena Swim Center on January 21, as they square off against MAAC rival Niagara at 1 p.m.
