Final Stats
Freshman Aubrey Bobo had 24 kills and sophomore Kau'i Robello had six service aces to lead Siena to a road win at Saint Peter's Saturday afternoon. The Peahens won the first game 30-23, but the Saints rallied to post a 3-1 (23-30, 30-21, 30-25 and 30-13) win.
Bobo killed 24 of her 43 attacks (.465) in her best performance of the season. The freshman outside hitter had limited front row assignments after injuring her bicep in mid September. She added 10 digs for the third double-double of the season.
Sophomore Burgandy McCurty continued to make her case for MAAC Player of the Year. McCurty had 17 kills in just 30 attacks in the victory. In addition to service aces, Robello led the team with 23 digs. The sophomore from Hawai'i has seen increased action in recent weeks and this may have been her best performance of the year.
Senior outside hitter Nadiege Honore had just eight kills to go along with eight attack errors as the Peahens defense focused on stopping Siena's talented outside attack.
Junior April London responded by finding Bobo and McCurty, and, after a sluggish start, the Saints rolled behind her precise sets. London ended with 46 assists and added three of the team's 15 aces.
Siena out-dug Saint Peter's 72-62. Kat McFadden led the Peahens with 14 kills.
Siena, now a perfect 9-0 in the MAAC (14-3 overall), returns to action at Manhattan Sunday at 2 p.m.
