Final Stats
The Siena volleyball team rebounded from a lackluster performance Friday night with authority, stomping visiting Loyola in straight games (30-19, 30-20 and 30-21) in Loudonville Saturday afternoon. It was the 16th straight win for the Saints (17-3, 12-0 MAAC) who host UAlbany in a TW3 match tomorrow at 4 p.m.
Freshman Aubrey Bobo and senior Nadiege Honore each had 17 kills on the outside as Loyola tried in vein to take away Siena's potent middle. Setter April London - who was briefly benched during Friday night's win - had 43 assists and managed the game with the style and efficiency that Siena fans have come accustomed to the last three seasons. Siena's all-time assists leader added seven digs and three kills.
Loyola was led by Christina Greenup with 10 kills. Nina Camaioni and Brittany born each had 11 digs.
Siena's defense was anchored by Honore, who collected 16 digs. Honore stayed in the rotation throughout and served well on this day.
The Saints dominated ever statistical category - holding a 50-34 edge in kills, a 10-3 advantage in aces and a 58-42 margin in digs.
Siena has not lost since August 31, but break from conference play tomorrow where a stiff challenge is expected from the Great Danes. But on this day the Saints did not look ahead and took care of the business at hand with a convincing score over the third place Hounds (16-10/7-4).
