Loudonville, N.Y. - The Siena Women's Golf team capped off their fall season with a fifth place finish at the Lehigh Invitational this weekend in Bethlehem, Pa. Senior co-captain Melissa Agostinelli (Rochester, N.Y./Aquinas) had one of her stronger showings of the season, leading a balanced Siena field while finishing in a tie for ninth individually.
In an Ivy League dominated event, Harvard won the tournament championship easily, fourteen strokes ahead of second place Yale. Georgetown and tournament host Lehigh also finished ahead of the Saints in the eight team field.
In addition to Agostinelli's prime performance, fellow co-captain Bridget Erwin (Syracuse, N.Y./Christian Brothers Academy) finished second among Siena golfers, three shots behind her teammate.
Following a strong fall season in which the Saints captured four top five team finishes, the team will head back to the links for the start of the spring season on March 24th for the Shamrock Invitational in Tega Cay, S.C.
