The Siena women's golf team placed ninth in a field of 13 in the two-day Hoya Invitational in Washington. Junior Melissa Agostinelli fired a two-day 155 (+11) to tie for 11th individually, while senior teammate Laura Woolgar shot a 163 (+19), tying for 33rd overall.
Princeton won the event with a two-day total of 604. Yale placed second with a 617. Siena's two-day total was 656, two strokes better than Brown University which placed 10th. The Saints also defeated Lehigh, Cleveland State and Sacred Heart.
Agostinelli shot a 76 on the opening day and followed that performance with a 79. Woolgar's rallied from a first day 85 to post a 78 on the second day. The rest of Siena's top-five finishers included Bridget Carr (84, 85 - 169/T-50th), Bridget Erwin (86, 84 - 170/52nd) and Megan Angis (85, 96 - 181/T-69th).
The competition was the last for the Saints until the MAAC Championships, which will be held April 27-29 at Lake Buena Vista, Fla.
