Robert Morris Tops Siena 3-0 in Chippewa Classic Sophomore Burgandy McCurty Named to All-Tournament Team
Emily Wolthuis led four Robert Morris players with double figure kills as the Colonials defeated Siena 3-0 (30-17, 30-23 and 30-25)on the final day of competition in the Central Michigan Chippewa Classic in Mount Pleasant, Mich. Sunday morning. Siena sophomore Burgandy McCurty was named to the All-Tournament team.
The Saints were led Sunday by freshman Aubrey Bobo who had 11 kills. McCurty had nine kills and led all players with a .438 attack percentage.
April London had 30 assists and killed four of her10 attacks without an error in a losing effort.
Robert Morris controlled the action in the first two games, winning 30-17 and 30-23. Siena lost a hard-fought 30-25 decision in the decisive third game.
Jesse Nelko (12), Jennifer Stambaugh (10) and Amanda Grahm (10) joined Wolthuis with double digit kills for RMU.
Siena finished the Tournament with a 2-1 record. Robert Morris went 2-1.
The Saints return action Friday in Long Island in the Hofstra Invitational.
