Nadiege Honore had 13 kills in the first two games and Burgandy McCurty killed 11 of her 14 attacks as Siena strolled to an easy 3-0 (30-15, 30-17 and 30-19) MAAC volleyball win over visiting Saint Peter's Sunday. The Saints limited the Peahens to a .022 attack percentage in their sixth straight win.
Siena (7-3/2-0) asserted itself from the start, scoring 10 straight points in the first game to take a 20-9 lead en route to a 30-15 triumph. They rode the momentum to the second game, building an early 11-3 advantage before coasting to a 30-17 win. Head coach Garvey Pierre then expanded his rotation and the reserves responded by pulling away midway through the third game for a 30-19 win.
April London had 34 assists, controlling the game from her setter post. Kathi Kobayashi added a team-high nine digs.
Freshman reserve Amanda Begin came off the bench to contribute five kills. Junior captain Kelly Hummel had five kills and three service aces.
Kate McFadden and Kelly Blanchfield each had six kills for Saint Peter's. Kim Mendoza had a match-high 10 digs.
The surging Saints have won six straight matches and are off to a quick 2-0 start in league play. The team returns to action at Loyola Saturday.
