Final Stats
Senior Nadiege Honore posted 23 kills, 20 digs and four aces, leading three Saints with double figure kills in a 3-1 (26-30, 30-20, 30-17, 30-24) road win at MAAC foe Rider Sunday. Fellow captain Kelly Hummel killed 11 of her 18 attacks and added three aces and six blocks.
The Saints lost their first game in conference play, falling behind early 1-0 after a 30-26 setback. The team responded decisively to post three straight convincing wins to take the match 3-1.
Siena improves to 9-3 on the season with its eight straight win and remains perfect at 4-0 in MAAC play.
Middle hitter Burgandy McCurty had 11 kills and six digs. Classmate Kau'i Robello played one of her best matches in the season with seven kills and 13 digs.
Setter April Lonon added 47 assists and libero Kathi Kobashi contributed 18 digs.
Brittany Hayes and Kristi Love each had 10 kills for Rider.
Siena held a 77-58 edge in digs.
The Saints return to MAAC action Saturday when they host Iona in a 2p.m. match at the College of Saint Rose. The match was moved off campus to accommodate the induction ceremony of new Siena president Fr. Kevin Mullen, O.F.M.
