UAlbany used major runs in all three sets to post a 3-0 win over Siena Wednesday night in Albany. Amanda Cowdry had 15 kills and eight digs to lead the Great Danes.
The Danes won the first set 25-20, the second 25-14 and the third 25-20. UAlbany used a 9-0 run in the first set, a 10-0 run in the second and a 6-0 run in the third to seize command.
Burgandy McCurty led the Saints with 10 kills, but couldn't find a consistent rhythm.
UAlbany held a decisive statistical edge in the front row, posting a .394 attack percentage and nine blocks. The Great Danes had balanced offensive production. Kamisha Kellam had 11 kills; Valerie Sourbeer and Kalyn Mostert had seven a piece.
Kau'i Robello played a strong game for the Saints, registering six kills on 14 attacks and posted three digs. Kelly Hummel added six kills and four digs.
Siena returns to MAAC action this weekend at Iona Saturday and Manhattan Sunday.
