Loudonville, N.Y. - The Siena women's golf team began the spring portion of their 2008 season placing seventh in a fourteen team field at the Shamrock Collegiate Invitational held over the weekend in Tega Cay, S.C. Freshman Katelynn Mannix led all Siena competitors finishing 17th overall amongst individual competitors.
Murray State emerged as the champion from a highly competitive field in which the top four teams finished the weekend within just five shots of each other. The Saints finished in the middle of the pack, 52 shots off the pace.
Coming off a strong fall campaign, Mannix completed the invitational strong as she fired a final round score of 74, which tied her for the second best third round score of any individual competitor.
Other top Siena performers included senior captains Melissa Agostinelli (T-32nd) and Bridget Erwin (T-34th).
The Green and Gold resume action when they take to the course next Monday for the Georgetown Invitational in Beallsville, Md.
