Final Stats
Harmonie Calinda tallied 22 kills and 15 digs to lead host Hofstra past Siena 3-1 on the second day of the Pride Volleyball Invitational on Long Island. Burgandy McCurty led the Saints with 18 kills.
Hofstra won a competitive first set 26-24, but Siena evened the match 1-1 with a 25-22 win in the second set. Hofstra rallied for a 25-20 win in the third set and 25-13 in the fourth.
Siena struggled to find balance on offense, as McCurty's 18 kills more than doubled her next closest teammate. Kathi Kobayashi anchored the Saints' defensive charge with 12 digs.
McCurty was named to the All-Tournament Team.
The Saints return home with a 0-2 record after falling 3-1 in their first match to Seton hall Friday evening.
Next weekend the team travels to College Station, Texas to compete in the Texas A&M Invitational.
