Final Stats
Freshman Amanda Sawlsville played the match of her young career, tallying 11 kills in just 15 attacks as setter Kau'i Robello spread the ball around nicely in a 3-0 MAAC win over Manhattan Sunday in Loudonville. Burgandy McCurty led all players with 14 kills and was one of three Saints to post 10 digs.
Siena (7-9/5-3) won the first two sets 25-16 and rallied to take the third 25-23.
Sophomore Aubrey Bobo has nine quick kills on the outside to lead the Saints to the two easy wins in the first two sets before resting in the third. McCurty, also playing on the outside, picked up the slack in the third set, and Sawlsville provided great balance all day in the middle.
Robello had 31 assists and killed both her attacks in playing a strong match at setter. Libero Lesli Akeo joined McCurty and Bobo with 10 digs.
Jaci Rahey led Manhattan (6-13/2-6) with 13 kills, six of which came in the final set.
Siena dominated at the net thanks to Sawlsville who was in on five of the team's eight blocks. The Saints out-killed the Jaspers 45-34, out-dug them 54-43 and compiled a .315 attack percentage for the match.
The Saints will look to keep it rolling when they host UAlbany Wednesday at 7 p.m. in a match that will be televised regionally on Time Warner Cable Channel 3.
