UAlbany setter Brooke Stanley had 34 assists and six digs, masterfully controlling the offense as UAlbany posted a 3-0 (25-19, 25-14 and 25-23) win over Siena in Loudonville Wednesday. Burgandy McCurty led all players with 17 kills for the Saints.
Valerie Sourbeer and Hillary White finished with 11 and 10 kills respectively for the Danes and libero Laurie Gonzales registered a match-high 20 digs.
Aubrey Bobo had nine kills and Amanda Sawlsville collected eight for the Saints. Lesli Akeo led the Siena defense with 17 kills and Bobo added 13.
The third set was extremely competitive throughout and Siena made a late rally to close within 24-22 before UAlbany regrouped with a timeout and Teresa Coppiellie ended the match with a kill.
Siena will look to get back on track when it hosts Iona Saturday at 2 p.m.
