Burgandy McCurty had her first 30-kill match of the season to lead Siena past visiting Iona 3-1 (25-21, 25-19, 18-25 and 25-21) at UHY Court in the ARC Saturday. Aubrey Bobo contributed 20 kills and 21 digs and freshman libero Lesli Akeo had a Siena season-high 30 digs in the win.
Colleen Genett had 10 kills and six blocks to lead Iona, posting a .500 attack percentage in the middle. Five Gaels had 10 digs or more, led by libero Allison Neiters' 16.
Siena controlled the statistical edge, holding a 70-49 edge in kills and an 86-67 lead in digs. Iona's advantage came at the net where they held a 12-6 lead in blocks.
The Saints kept their rotation intact for all four sets. Kau'i Robello handled the setting duties, finishing with 51 assists and 12 digs.
Freshmen Jasmine Brown and Amanda Sawlsville contributed to the win with nine and five kills respectively. Sawlsville did not have an error in 15 attacks.
Sarah Weiner led Iona with 15 kills and Molly O'Shea added 12.
The Saints return to MAAC play at Marist Sunday at 2 p.m.
