The Siena swimming and diving team was swept in tri-meet action Saturday afternoon by Binghamton and host Marist at the McCann Natatorium in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. Binghamton set back the Saints 174-125, while Marist handed Siena its first MAAC loss, 194-103.
Marist made it a clean sweep of the meet as they won their matchup with Binghamton, 173-125.
Siena (5-4, 3-1) won two overall events, pacing the pool in the 200 medley relay and in 1M dives. The team of Katie Ness, Britney Anderer, Brittany Pavolko and Molly Chamberlain captured the 200 MR in a time of 1:49.78. Sophomore diver Elizabeth Rice recorded the lone individual victory, scoring a 204.86 in 1M dives.
Additional strong showings included Chamberlain who swam to a second place finish in the 500 free (5:14.44) and Ness who scored a second place time in the 50 free (:24.90).
The Saints return to action when they host their first home meet in nearly two months on Dec. 12 against Sacred Heart. Meet time is set for 1 p.m. from the Siena Swim Center.
