Final Stats

Marist senior setter Dawn Jan had 62 assists, surpassing the programs all-time assist record, and the Red Foxes pulled off a surprising 3-2 win over Siena Sunday in Loudonville. Burgandy McCurty had 27 kills and Aubrey Bobo added 20 kills and 22 digs in a losing effort for the Saints.

The Red Foxes are the first MAAC team other than Fairfield to defeat the Saints in Loudonville since Rider earned a 3-0 win on November 13, 2004. Since that loss, the Saints had won 33 of 35 league games at home.

Siena controlled a statistical advantage in nearly every category and seemed to have momentum after forcing a fifth set with a decisive 25-16 win in the fourth, but the stubborn Red Foxes rebounded to control the action and posted a 15-12 win in the final set.

The Red Foxes started strong, capturing a 25-18 win in the first set. Siena responded with a 25-21 win the second, but Marist bounced back to take a hotly contested third set 25-23.

The Saints switched setters in the fourth set, turning primarily to senior co-captain Kau'i Robello. Robello helped turn around the match and finished with 17 assists and 18 digs.

Alexandra Shultze led Marist with 19 kills and Joanna Foss added 17. Libero Emily Brosky led all players with 24 digs.

Siena held a .260 to .217 advantage in attack percentage, an 80-65 edge in digs and a 9-6 lead in blocks. Marist finished with 65 kills compared to just 58 for the Saints.

The Saints have a non-league match at Binghamton on Wednesday.
