Final Stats
Anna Lejina had 15 kills and Michelle McDonough added 14 to lead Binghamton past Siena 3-0 (25-19, 25-20 and 25-22) at West Gym in Vestal Wednesday night. Burgandy McCurty led all players with 21 kills for the Saints.
Siena continued to search for an effective lineup, rotating 12 players into the match. Freshman Elizabeth Ives regained the setter role and had 29 assists and seven digs. Ives primarily set the middle where McCurty recorded nearly half of the team's 110 attacks.
The Saints also received solid defensive contributions from senior Kau'i Robello who led all players with 13 digs.
The match was very even statistically despite being decided in just three sets. The Bearcats controlled a 40-36 edge in kills, a .188-.100 advantage in attack percentage and a 5-2 lead in blocks. Siena had a 43-40 lead in digs and the two teams each recorded three service aces.
Siena returns to MAAC action this weekend, looking to end a two-match slide in Western New York against Niagara and Canisius.
