Final Stats
Marina Markovic had 16 kills to lead Hofstra to a 3-1 (25-20, 25-13, 17-25 and 25-20) non-league volleyball win over Siena Tuesday in Long Island. Taylor Akana led all players with 23 kills for the Saints.
Siena played without Aubrey Bobo who had returned to the rotation this weekend from concussion symptoms.
Hofstra used an early 14-6 run to take control of the first set and led 11-2 in the second to seize firm control of the match. Siena came out strong after intermission, hitting .355 in taking the third set 25-17, but the Pride led throughout the fourth set and scored six of the final seven points to claim a 25-20 win.
Akana's 23 kills were 17 more than her next closest teammate. Head Coach Garvey Pierre also turned back to sophomore setter Elizabeth Ives who registered 35 assists.
The Saints return to the New York City area this weekend where they face Saint Peter's Saturday and Manhattan Sunday.
