Final Stats
Brittany Lintelman was the unlikely hero as the Siena volleyball team got back on track with a 3-0 (29-27, 25-17 and 25-21) sweep of Saint Peter's in Jersey City Saturday. The senior registered 16 kills and posted a .538 attack percentage to pace the Saints to their second MAAC victory in three matches.
Aubrey Bobo returned and landed a double-double with 15 kills and 21 digs. She was one of five Saints to reach double figures in digs. Lesli Akeo had 16, Taylor Akana 15, Brianne Bobo 14 and Sarah Sivertson tallied 13.
Head Coach Garvey Pierre turned to Sarah Sivertson as the starting setter and the sophomore responded with 38 assists and just one handling error.
Siena dominated the match statistically, controlling a 49-29 advantage in kills and an 83-58 edge in digs.
Stephanie Phillips was the only Peahen to manage double-figure kills ending with 11. Saint Peter's made things respectable by controlling the action at the net. They held a 10-3 advantage in blocks.
Siena won despite an atypical off-day from Akana who finished with just seven kills and seven attack errors.
The Saints will look to fire on all cylinders when they travel across the city tomorrow to take on Manhattan.
