LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - The Siena swimming and diving team cruised to a 127-60 win over C.W. Post Saturday at the Siena Swim Center. This was the first meet since early-November for the Saints, but Siena showed no signs of rust, winning all but two events.
"I think it's a testament to our team," said head coach Paul Kueterman. "We rose to the challenge today."
Sophomore Kaela Bjornberg led the way with three victories. Bjornberg led off the meet by swimming third on the victorious 200 medley relay team, and followed it up with wins in the 200 I.M. (2:14.41) and 100 fly (:59.95). Both individual times were new season-bests.
"Kaela's been a consistent, hard worker," Kueterman said. "She steps up when needed, and she had a great meet."
Seniors Caitlyn Biagioli, Molly Chamberlain, and Nicole Hagi each won two events on the meet, as did junior Katie Ness. Junior Elizabeth Rice also swept the one and three-meter diving events, bringing her season total to ten wins.
Siena, now 5-2 on the season, returns home next Saturday, when they host Sacred Heart in a 1 p.m. meet.
