Final Stats

LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - Siena turned the ball over 22 times and lost to Saint Peter's 53-45 Saturday afternoon in Loudonville. It was Siena's seventh straight loss to Saint Peter's. Senior guard Allie Lindemann led the team with 14 points (all in the second half).

"This was a disappointing loss," Head Coach Gina Castelli said. "Saint Peter's played really physical and we just didn't play aggressive enough to beat them."

For the second time this season, Siena (8-14, 6-7) was held to 17 points in the first half against the Peahens, who rank as the league's top defense (57.3 ppg). Siena shot 26.9% (7-26) from the field and had 10 turnovers in the first half. Saint Peter's shot 40.9% (9-22) and led 26-17 at halftime.

Lindemann led the Saints on a 14-2 run to start the second half and grab a 31-28 lead with 13:26 remaining. After going scoreless in the first half, she hit her first four 3-pointers of the second half. The Peahens (10-14, 6-7) couldn't stay with Lindemann as she came off screens and found herself wide open.

"I thought she [Allie] played really well," Castelli said. "We tried to get her the ball more but we just turned it over too many times."

Lindemann's last 3-pointer gave Siena a 40-39 lead with 7:47 left. It would be Siena's last lead of the game as they shot 1-for-10 from the field and had five turnovers the rest of the way.

Lindemann and Cathy Cockrum combined for 22 of the team's 28 points in the second half.

In two games against Saint Peter's this season, Siena has averaged 42.5 points and shot 29.2% from the field with 22.5 turnovers. Siena's last win against Saint Peter's occurred on December 10, 2006 (66-60).

The Saints return to action Monday evening when they host Fairfield at 7 p.m.
