Women's Golf Finishes 10th in Spring Opener

Siena women's golf moved up two spots on the final day of the C&F Bank Invitational to finish 10th overall in their spring opener in Williamsburg, Va. On the final day the Saints shot ten strokes better than their opening round performance.

Tournament host William & Mary won the event with a 36-hole team score of 612 on the par-72, 6,043 yard course. Longwood's Cameron Carter shot a +2 (146) for the event to capture the individual championship.

Freshman Cortney Tilley led the Saints and finished tied for 30th overall with rounds of 80 and 82 respectively. Junior captain Katelynn Mannix and freshman Megan Cahill were one stroke behind Tilley. Cahill and Bridget Carr each shot sub-80 rounds Sunday with scores of 77 and 79 respectively.

For a second straight day, the Saints were at the vanguard of the MAAC schools represented in the 21-team field, finishing well ahead of conference foes Fairfield (15th), UAlbany (18th) and Boston University (19th).

The Saints return to action in three weeks for the Dartmouth Invitational which takes place Apr. 10-11 on Cape Cod in Falmouth, Mass.
