Junior forward Ashleigh Barone chipped in on all three Siena goals and the defense led by Laura Ettinger earned its second consecutive shutout Sunday afternoon as the Saints defeated New Hampshire 3-0 in Durham, N.H.
The Saints (5-0) are rolling through their most challenging non-conference schedule in years. They're averaging 3.0 goals/game and allowing 1.40. Four different players have six points or more, led by Brittany Pfaff and Barone.
Pfaff broke the ice in the 17th minute with a shot from 15 yards out on the left side.
Siena held a 1-0 lead until the 75th minute when Barone found Lindsay Tegas on the left side and she took it end line and shot it into the side netting.
Barone (88') completed her four-point day (1G, 2A) when she ripped a shot off the post and in to the goal. It is the second time this season in which she's tallied four points.
UNH (2-3-2) outshot Siena 12-9 but Ettinger saved all four shots on target to record the shutout.
The Saints return to action on Wednesday when they play Vermont in Burlington, Vt.
