Final Stats
Siena showed little of the energy it did in Sunday's startling upset of MAAC favorite Niagara Wednesday night against Binghamton here in Loudonville. The result was a lifeless 3-0 (25-18, 25-13 and 25-22) loss to their America East counterpart, the team's ninth loss in 11 matches this season.
The Bearcats (5-9) broke open a 15-15 set in the opener, scoring 10 of the last 13 points in a 25-18 win. The second set was as lopsided as any this season for the Saints with Binghamton rolling to a 25-13 triumph. Siena (2-9) showed some heart after intermission leading late in the third set before surrendering a 25-22 defeat.
Anna Lejina had 13 of Binghamton's 33 kills. The Bearcats took advantage of 26 attack errors by the Saints. Siena hit just .044 for the match.
Libero Lesli Akeo provided the only bright spot for Siena, registering a match high 18 digs, including some sprawling saves. Taylor Akana had 15 of Siena's 31 kills, but hit at just .136 for the match.
In addition to Siena's 26 attack errors, the Saints misfired on nine services, meaning they handed their opponent 35 points. Binghamton had just 13 hitting errors and four service errors.
Siena will try to rebound at this weekend when its five match homestand concludes with matches against saint Peter's and Fairfield.
