Siena swimming and diving got back on the right track Saturday, going 2-0 in a tri meet at the Siena Swim Center. The Saints snuck by Bryant 118-109 and defeated MAAC rival Niagara 144-97, running their record to 8-3 overall and a perfect 2-0 against conference opponents.

Siena swimmers won seven events on the day, and three came by margins of seven one-hundredths of a second or less. Of note, Jacque Medina out-touched Mara Valenzuela in the 200 free (1:56.57), Amanda Podczerwinski eked out the 200 IM over Molly Smith (2:13.00), and Shannon Love won the 100 free by just one one-hundredth of a second over Taylor DeBever (53.57).

Love, Podczerwinski, and junior Kaela Bjornberg led Siena with two wins apiece on the day. Bjornberg and Love were also just barely out-touched in two other events as well. Bjornberg was second in the 100 fly (59.45), coming in second by five one-hundredths of a second, while Love was on the wrong end of a bang-bang finish in the 50 free (24.43), falling six one-hundredths of a second behind the winner.

Siena is off for the next four weeks, returning to the pool on December 10 against Sacred Heart at the Siena Swim Center.
