Final Stats
One day after posting one of its biggest non-league wins ever, the Siena volleyball team dropped a pair of matches to instate foes Fordham and UAlbany Saturday on the final day of competition in the Fordham invite. The Rams toppled the Saints 3-1 (25-14, 18-25, 25-19 and 25-17) in a morning contest, and the Great Danes posted a 3-1 (25-15, 22-25, 25-16 and 25-13) win in Siena's final match of the Tournament.
Siena defeated Colorado in five dramatic sets Friday, but couldn't carry any momentum through to Saturday.
Middle blocker Colleen Ahearn finished off a strong Tournament by posting 10 kills in each match Saturday. She hit .273 against Fordham, and .364 against the Danes. Taylor Akana led all players with 16 kills against UAlbany, and posted double-digit digs in each match.
Siena had 15 service aces in the Colorado match, but managed just seven combined in the two matches Saturday.
Taylor Akana was named to the All-Tournament team for the Saints.
The Saints begin MAAC play on the road next weekend, playing at Loyola Saturday and at Rider Sunday.
