Fairfield Shuts Out Siena, 2-0

LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - Fairfield out-shot Siena Women's Soccer 22-8 en route to a 2-0 Stags victory Sunday afternoon at Siena Field. Taylor Booth made five saves in a losing effort for the Saints.

Ashley Small and Jac Ley accounted for the Fairfield (8-4-2, 5-1) goals. In the 23rd minute with the Saints (5-8-1, 1-3-1) pinching in deep, the ball came out to Small who raced down nearly the entire length of the field and lofted a shot over Booth for the goal. Ley added insurance in the 51st minute, putting in the rebound after her initial shot was blocked.

Fairfield also held a 3-1 edge in corners kicks and Kathleen Early made four saves in earning the shutout.

Caitlin Cahalan (three shots) and Brittany Pfaff (two shots) accounted for the Saints' attack and each put a shot on target.

The Saints now face a crucial MAAC road weekend beginning with Saint Peter's Friday at 3:30 p.m.
