Oct. 21, 2012

Box Score

Martine Diamond scored the game's lone goal in the 50th minute, sending Manhattan to a 1-0 win over Siena Women's Soccer Sunday morning in Riverdale, N.Y. The loss snapped a 10-game unbeaten streak (8-0-2) for the Saints over the Jaspers.

Diamond took a feed from Brittany Egan, firing it into the top left corner from 30 yards out.

Manhattan (5-10, 2-5) out-shot the Saints 15-13 including a 9-2 edge in the first half. Goalie Taylor Booth however kept the game scoreless for awhile, making five saves for the match.

Caitlin Cahalan (five shots) and Brittany Pfaff (three shots) accounted for the Siena (6-9-1, 2-4-1) offense. Kara Davis made three saves for Manhattan in earning the shutout.

Siena returns home for its final two games of the regular season next weekend, likely needing to win both and get some help to make the MAAC Tournament. The Saints host Rider in the first of two crucial matches Friday at 3 p.m.
