SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. - Tabatha Richardson-Smith came off the bench to score 10 of her career-high 19 points during a late 16-5 Seton Hall run as the Pirates rallied past Siena 57-48 at Walsh Gymnasium. Lily Grenci led Siena with 17 points and nine rebounds.

Siena (2-4) went on a 9-0 run early in the second half to erase what was once a 13-point deficit and eventually would take a 36-33 lead following a pair of Tehresa Coles free throws with 8:41 remaining. But Richardson-Smith opened the decisive rally with a game-tying three as Seton Hall (3-4) would jump out to a 49-41 lead by the time they concluded their run with 3:46 left.

Richardson-Smith shot 8-11 from the field and sparked a Pirates' second unit which outscored the Saints' bench 29-7 while also outscoring their own starters.

In a rematch of the Saints' 2003 WNIT win over Seton Hall, the Pirates went on an early 18-2 run to take a 20-7 lead late in the first half. Siena went scoreless for 7:55 and missed 22 of their first 25 shots while committing 13 turnovers over that time.

But the resilient Saints ended the half on an 8-3 run to pull within 23-15 at the break. Clara Sole Anglada sank a pair of key threes early during the second half run as Siena came all the way back to take the lead. Sole Anglada finished with 10 points and six rebounds.

Siena did a masterful job denying Seton Hall's top player Brittany Morris, who entered the contest averaging 14.0 points. The Saints limited Morris to just four points - all clutch free throws in the final minute - in 32 minutes of action.

Seton Hall, which entered the game shooting just 29.2% from the field - sixth worst in the nation - shot 43.1% in snapping a four-game losing streak. Siena was held to just 31.9% from the floor.

The Saints return to the court Saturday for the annual Albany Cup showdown against crosstown rival UAlbany at the Times Union Center. The Saints tip at 5 p.m. in the front end of a doubleheader with the Siena and UAlbany men scheduled to tip at 7.
