Final Results
Siena women's golf posted the fourth-best team total of the day Monday at the Brown Invitational, and advanced to a tie for sixth at the conclusion of the final round. The Saints put two golfers in the top 20, led by Victoria Nguyen's tie for 13th.
Nguyen shot her second consecutive round of 80 at the Rhode Island Country Club in Barrington, R.I., moving three spots up the leaderboard in the process. Sophomore Kylie Strijek, meanwhile, rebounded from a first-round 84 to fire a second-round 77, becoming one of just 15 of the tournament's 57 participants to break 80 Monday in the process. She wound up tied for 15th.
Siena's second-round total of 324 was a 13-shot improvement from Sunday's play, and the Saints tied for sixth with Fairleigh Dickinson. Team champion St. John's defeated host Brown by a slim five-shot margin, while Princeton's Kelly Shon took individual medalist honors by three shots after rounds of 71 and 73.
The Saints return to the links on April 15, when they'll travel to the Hartford Invitational for the final tune-up before the 2012 MAAC Championships.
