The Siena volleyball team swept Fordham to start the 2012 season, but dropped a 3-1 decision to host Boston College Friday in the Boston College Invitational.
In the first match of the day, Siena coasted past Fordham of the Atlantic-10, winning in straight sets 25-13, 25-21 and 25-21.
Jacqueline Skeen killed nine of her 15 attacks, and Colleen Ahearn killed nine of her 16 tries in the middle for Siena. Taylor Akana led the way with 12 kills, and Lesli Akeo paced the defense with 18 digs.
Sarah Sivertson played a solid match as the opening day setter, posting 34 assists and four digs.
Fordham was led by Lisa Hepp who killed 10 of her 23 attacks.
In the nightcap, Siena took a 1-0 lead with a 25-19 win in the first set, but BC rallied to win the next three sets 25-14, 25-18 and 25-20 to win the match 3-1.
Siena led the fourth set 14-11 before the Eagles rallied to scored 14 of the final 20 points.
The Saints conclude play with a match against Texas Tech at 10 a.m. and a contest with Binghamton at 2 p.m. Saturday.
