First Round Results

Siena Women's Golf sits in third after round one of the St. John's Women's Invitational. Mary Fletcher leads all Saints, finishing the day tied for eighth.

Siena was able to best the heavy winds, which came in at 17+ miles per hour with gusts up to 30 mph. The Saints placed four golfers in the top thirty, with Fletcher currently first among MAAC individuals. Victoria Nguyen finished the round one stroke behind Fletcher and tied for 13th. Kristen Bromley and Katie Nelson rounded out the Saints top four.

Siena finished the day first among MAAC participating schools. Monmouth finished the day sixth, 17 strokes behind the Saints. Hartford, the third MAAC team competing finished the day tied for eighth. Siena is currently 13 strokes behind second place Seton Hall.

Last year the Saints finished second in the Invitational, with Nguyen finishing one stroke behind the individual leader. Siena will look to gain ground on the leaders tomorrow with shotgun starts slated to begin at 9:30 am.i
