The Siena Women's Golf team began their 2015 Championship Monday competing in the Grand Canyon University Spring Invite. After the first round of competition the Saints are currently tied for 16th place in the 21-team field.

Mary Fletcher leads all Siena golfers, tied for 28th place. Fletcher sunk the third most birdies in the first round among all golfers with 2. Kristen Bromley is two strokes behind Fletcher, with Victoria Nguyen sitting two strokes behind Bromley, rounding out the top three for the Saints.

Siena is currently tied with Creighton and Oakland for 16th place. They are four strokes behind 15th placed Chicago State and five behind 14th place Nebraska - Omaha. UC Riverside sits in first place with a six-stroke lead on second place Northern Arizona. Deanna Salvatori from Grand Canyon University leads all golfers shooting a 2-under on the day.

The Saints are back in action tomorrow for the second round of the Invite. Stephanie Sullivan tees off first for the Saints at 8:47 MST (10:47 EST.)
